Embedded MSDN/DPNSS is available on the EX, MXe III, CX II, and CXi II controllers. It is supported on the T1/E1 Dual Framer MMC or the T1/E1 Combo MMC.
Embedded MSDN/DPNSS implementation eliminates the requirement for a Network Services Unit and a Universal Network Services Unit to support MSDN/DPNSS. You no longer use a serial connection and communications software running on a PC for programming.
It provides the same level of functionality as the MSDN/DPNSS implementation on the Universal NSU.
Embedded DPNSS is programmed through the ESM and follows a similar configuration sequence as programming an MSDN/DPNSS trunk on the NSU (see Program MSDN/DPNSS trunks).
The configuration is dynamic.
Both E1 and T1 physical connectivity are allowed.
Embedded MSDN/DPNSS can be configured for LT and NT connection (see Digital Link Descriptors).
Embedded MSDN/DPNSS can be intermixed with other embedded digital trunking protocols ( PRI/ QSIG and T1/D4) on the T1/E1 Dual Framer MMC.
Maintenance and diagnostic information can be obtained through the Maintenance Command form.
Supports up to six links on an MXe III, and two links on a CX II, and CXi II.
Options and licensing follow the same pattern as for all other digital trunk provisioning.
APNSS is not supported.
Embedded MSDN/DPNSS supports all the features listed in MSDN/DPNSS Features.
